Manuscript length

-          Research article should be between 5,000-12,000 words excluding footnotes and bibliographic references. The disparity in manuscript length is attributable to disciplinary fields.

-          Review articles should be no longer than 5,000 words in length.

-          Multiple book reviews should be no longer than 3,000 words in length.

-          Single book reviews should be no longer than 2,000 words in length.


Manuscript format

Abstract – The abstract should be 250 words or less.

Keywords – Three to five key words or phrases in alphabetical order, separated by commas.



Introduce the topic, provide a background, statement of importance, relevance to modern academic theory/debate and purpose. 


Literature review

A review of literature is necessary. The manuscript should engage the relevant literature, clearly demonstrate gaps and contributions.  Be mindful to include seminal work within the topic area.



If applicable, the methodology section should demonstrate theorizing and/or the methodology used. It should include all aspects of the research design, implementation and a description of techniques used to analyze the data. 


Results and Discussion

The results section of the paper is to report the information gathered as a result of the methodology. The discussion section is to interpret and describe the significance of findings.


Conclusions and Recommendations

The conclusions section demonstrates an overall understanding as well as a synthesis of the key points of research. The conclusions should include a critical commentary. Recommendations for further research should also be provided.



Use the singular heading even if you have many acknowledgements. If the research is sponsored by an organization, please indicate it.



References should follow the latest edition of APA style throughout the document.  Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and vice versa).   The reference page is single spaced.



Number the table according to their sequence in the text. The text should include references to all tables. Place table titles above the tables.



Figures should be of high quality (not less than 300 dpi JPEG or TIFF format), with the same size as the author would like them to appear in press. Number the figures according to their sequence in the text. The text should include references to all figures. Place figure captions below the figures.

Helpful Hints


Please write your text in appropriate academic English (American or British usage is accepted, but authors should remain consistent using either British or American not both).  Authors should write in third person and eliminate any use of personal pronouns.

Authors should use Times New Roman, 12 point font.  The introduction and the remaining sections of the document should not have any changes to the font sizes or line spacing to condense the text into a limited number of pages. Use italics for emphasis and all non-English words; do not underline.


Ethical Considerations

All authors who are planning or conducting a study should consult the Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct guidelines published by the APA.  This requires all researchers ensure approval by the relevant participants which includes informed consent documents and the authors’ institutions review boards.  All such information should be clearly stated in the methodology section of the submission.
